Just received from Jon ...
"Information on the new upcoming UL Widow Maker.
We have been working on this kite for awhile. What held us up is that we discovered that doing what we usually do for an ultra lite did not work with the Widow Maker. The usual changing of 3.9 oz to 1.5 oz leading edge tubes wasn't enough. The weight difference in the sail was 18 grams. We then tried using 3pt's all around with a P-100 spine. The kite flew fine except the difference in wind range was not enough to justify doing the kite. The standard does so well in lower winds that it made no sense to do the kite. So we had to figured out how to take more weight off the sail. What we did end up doing is removing the mylar that runs along the trailing edge on the tail E panel, we used new 9oz dacron to replace the webbing material on the
nose and changed a few other details to get the weight down without
compromising the durability of the sail. This is more of a hybrid between a SUL and a UL. We think this is a great addition to the standard.
The Frame All Sky Shark Tubes:
- 2PT's in the leading edges
- 3PT Black Diamonds (clear coated) lower spreaders
- Spine - P-100
- Top spreader .1880 pultruded
We have also been using a new turbo bridle that was developed for the special Spider series kites . The verdict is still out on which bridle is the best for the kite. But I really think on the UL we are going to use the turbo. We have been flying this version and it does really well in the lower winds and still tricks great. It will come with a 10 gram weight for the tail which seems to do the job. We also have been working on a new UL sail with mylar that will be seam taped. If it works is will come out right behind the new UL. We have to do some testing on this version, but it looks like it is going to work out OK, stay tuned."

Thanks Jon. Always great to get the info 'straight from the horses mouth' ... so to speak.
The plan is that these will be ready mid-March (but don't hold us to that). Once we get the okay we will start taking pre-orders. Kite will be available in the same colors as the standard and of course customs will be available. Oh ... the best part?
Same price as the standards!
It is possible that Jon may be sending me a demo to try out and if that happens you can expect video and a review to follow.
As Jon said ... stay tuned!
